Robata-ya NY Finally Opened!

I had great time at new restaurant Robata-ya last night! My ex-boss of Sakagura Mr. Kadoi is a general manager of Robata-ya. They haven’t got liquor license yet, so I brought my new favorite Junmai “Gorin” from Tengumai, and my friend brought special hidden sake “WA WA WA” and “ITTEKI NYUKON” from Japan. Absolutely, this place has already become my favorite place!!

P1040823 My favorite Junmai Ginjo “TENGUMAI UMAGIN”. Actually, this Junmai Ginjo is NOT fancy Ginjo type at all. Many people may not understand this strong point right away if you taste it. However, this simple smoothness and gentle rice flavor Umami is enjoyable forever with all type of dishes!

I really wish I could find the places more which serve this UMAGIN!

So far, only one place serves this sake in New York!!

MY OCHOCO! Bring your own sake cup “ochoco” for Sake tasting!

I designed Sake Discoveries original Sake cup called Ochoko! Blue one is for men, and white one is for ladies. (actually, doesn’t matter though) I always feel bad when I use a plastic cup at sake tasting events. So, finally, I decided to make original simple sake tasting cups. I cannot wait to use this for JOY OF SAKE!

A Night to Remember 3 -Daishichi Night at Bohemian-Sep.2.09

What a wonderful night!! I was very honored to hold my third official party “A Night to Remember” with Master Sake Sommelier Mr. Ad Blankestijn from Daishichi Brewery!

We all were intoxicated with Myoka Rangyoku, Horeki Daishichi, Daishichi Minowamon, Daishichi Classic, Daishichi Yukishibori, Daishichi Kimoto Umeshu, and Daishichi Kijoshu 2001.

Mr. Kyotaka Shinoki who is an executive chef of Bohemian created special menu for Daishichi, and my friend Aki Tanaka who is a popular desert chef created a special Japanese sweets “Cream ANMITSU” with Japanese plum of plum sake from Daishichi brewery.
