Sakagura Daishichi “Big Seven” Week

We are very honored to announce that special guests are coming to Sakagura on Tuesday evening, May 24th 2011. Join us in welcoming Mr. Hideharu Ohta, the 10th generation owner of Daishichi Sake Brewery (http://english.daishichi.com) and Mr. Ad Blankestijn, Daishichi Sake Brewery’s master sake sommelier, who will be in attendance and available to answer all your questions about Daishichi KIMOTO sake.
Daishichi Sake Brewery was established in 1752, and is based in Nihonmatsu City, Fukushima Japan. Daishichi makes rich, mellow sakes whose outstanding reputation comes from an insistence on a strictly orthodox brewing tradition: the KIMOTO method. All Daishichi products are superb examples of KIMOTO style sake.

On Tuesday, May 24th we will offer a very special tasting set “Daishichi Brewery Set” highlighting Horeki Daishichi, Minowamon, Daishichi Yuki Shibori for $30.00 (regular price $36).
For this one night only you can meet Mr. Hideharu Ohta, the 10th generation owner of Daishichi and Mr. Ad Blankstijn, master sake sommelier of Daishichi brewery, who will be in attendance! (7pm – 9pm)

May 23rd and 25th to 27th
Enjoy our special Daishichi Kimoto Tasting Set featuring “Daishichi Brewery Set” for $32.oo (regular price $36).

Fukushima products have been in the news lately, but we’re happy to report Daishichi sake has had no damage. Nihonmatsu City is over 40 miles away from the nuclear plant, and their brewery is solidly constructed, including 12.5 inch thick concrete walls, keeping their sake in a very safe environment.

Prompt RSVPs are recommended for an evening not to be missed.
